MEXC Review
Quick review
MEXC is a low-cost global exchange best suited to active traders who want broad spot and futures access. Its current zero-fee spot program and wide market coverage are strong advantages, but mandatory KYC, extensive regional restrictions, changing promotional fees, and the risks of keeping assets with a custodial exchange should be weighed carefully.
MEXC is a custodial centralized cryptocurrency exchange (CEX) founded in 2018 and headquartered in Comoros. Its native token is MX Token (MX).
Availability and KYC
MEXC serves more than 170 countries and regions. It does not currently serve the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Singapore, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Iran, Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine, or other sanctioned or restricted jurisdictions. KYC has been required since February 2026 for funding, trading, and withdrawals.
Custody and protections
MEXC is custodial and does not provide FDIC- or SIPC-style deposit insurance. It maintains a Guardian Fund that is planned to expand to $500 million and a Futures Insurance Fund of approximately 751 million USDT for additional user and derivatives-market protection.
Fees
Crypto deposits are free. Fiat and third-party payment fees vary by method and region. Withdrawal fees vary by cryptocurrency and blockchain, and the live fee is shown before withdrawal. Transfers between MEXC users are free. Network fees depend on the blockchain and congestion. There are no inactivity fees.
Spot maker and taker fees are currently 0% under MEXC’s zero-fee offering. Futures fees vary by contract, region, and promotion; more than 100 selected futures pairs are currently eligible for 0% trading fees.
